The Prospect & Enfield Kindergym is a non-profit organisation. Volunteers from the Kindergym make up a volunteer committee which manages the club. The Kindergym also has paid employees - people to set up and pack up, manage reception on Kindergym days and the Kindergym Leader. The volunteer committee meets once a term. We are always looking for new committee members with fresh ideas. Involvement in the committee is an excellent way to make new friends in the community and gain new skills whilst having a real say in your childs environment

The Prospect & Enfield Kindergym Inc is run by a Volunteer Committee.

We welcome new members, if you would like to join please contact us on 0400 293 350 or email us.

Kindergym sessions are managed by a qualified kindergym leader. Generally sessions consist of group time at the beginning of the session to do warm up exercises and a few songs.

The children are then free to move off for 25 minutes of free time to explore the equipment with their carer assisting them. Children are then called back together for group time and a cool down with a series of exercises, songs and socialisation. The children then get a stamp and move off from the class.

Sessions last for one hour and include:

Warm up
Free Exploration
Guided Discovery
Group Time
Cool Down

Parents/caregivers are responsible for the supervision and safety of their own child.

Parent/caregivers share their children's fun and achievements. The real benefit comes from the child's self-initiated play rather than parent directed play.

Parent/caregivers provide encouragement and positive reinforcement for the child, through play.

Parent/caregivers observe the chid while at play.

Parent/caregivers reinforce the healthy lifestyle messages provided at Kindergym.

Parent/caregivers re-reinforce the values to the child of an active lifestyle.

By being actively involved the parent/caregiver reinforces to the child a positive life long attitude towards physical activity.

Kindergym is a movement based program designed specifically for children 5yrs and under and their caregiver.

The program promotes the development of the whole child - socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically, in a safe, structured, multi-sensory environment, indoors. Children develop at different rates in different ways. Learning through play in a stimulating, non-competitive environment assists your child to develop to their full potential in readiness for kindergarten, school and sport.

To cater for different stages of development, our classes are divided into the following groups: Kindergym (0-3 years) and Pre-gym (3-4+ years). See session times for details.
